Peak Beings Yoga is Registered Yoga School with the Yoga Alliance so all graduates of our Yoga Teacher Training programs will be qualified to be a Registered Yoga Teacher. Our commitment is to create a fun and safe place for individuals to improve their well-being while exploring yoga and other disciplines of conscious movement.

The Self-Guided Yin Yoga and Anatomy Teacher Training will consist of 50 Total Hours of training content.. The training will dive into all that is Yin Yoga, with an emphasis on finding comfort in your Yin Yoga practice, understanding the anatomy of the body and learning to practice and teach in a functional way.

The training starts with creating a foundation in Yin Yoga by learning about the history, theory and philosophy behind Yin Yoga. From here we will dive into the anatomy of the body so that students have a true understanding of the make-up of the body when it comes to their muscles and bones, and how they move (biomechanics of the body). Students will also learn about anatomical variation and how different our skeletons are from person to person, which affects how each person will practice Yin Yoga postures. There will also be an in-depth exploration of Fascia and where it is in the body and how we can utilize Yin Yoga poses to safely stress these tissues and keep them healthy.

Building on the foundation of the theory and anatomy, students will learn how to categorize Yin Yoga postures into functional groupings in order to do the best we can as teachers to ensure that the practitioners are achieving the purposes of the poses. Through lectures and teaching demonstrations students will learn to adapt postures for any student they may encounter in order to teach in a safe and non-injurious way. Students will learn and apply many different teaching techniques, including varying yoga postures for different students, utilizing props, and levering the body to increase or decrease the stress on particular tissues in the body (muscles, bones, fascia, joints, etc.).

In addition to the technical aspects of the practice and teaching of Yin Yoga, we will also explore the subtle body in regards to the chakras, meridians and prana flow in the body. Students will learn how certain Yin Yoga postures can stimulate and increase the flow of energy through the body's energy channels. The energy pathways will be studied based on Eastern and Western methodologies so that students can have a better understanding of the many different ways that the energy body has been analyzed and categorized through science and experience.

The overall goal of all Peak Beings' Unified Yoga Trainings is to approach the practice of yoga in a very open-minded way, with a focus on experiential learning and understanding that every person is unique and the practice of yoga is not one size fits all. The underlying philosophy of the entire training is focused on awareness and comfort. Through the teaching techniques, students will learn to increase their overall awareness and through the practice, students will learn to find comfort in themselves physically, mentally, energetically and emotionally.

The training content will be available to students for a period of 3 months in order to allow them to have sufficient time to watch, review and absorb the content.
